Dvc points--disney cruises

I have a question concerning DVC points and Disney Cruises. I understand that you can buy/rent DVC points toward a Disney Cruise. Is this accurate information?

It is a very expensive way to cruise. You don't want to "rent points" to cruise. You don't even want to use your own points to cruise because of the number of points required to cruise.

Members can currently use their points to book cruises. It requires a large number of points per person, there's a $95 exchange fee, and not all cruises/cabins are available on points.

It's certainly not something you'd want to do as a renter, it would almost certainly cost far more to book with points than it would with cash.

Members usually rent their points when they want to go on a cruise because of the large number of points required. It is just more cost effective to pay cash.
