DVC points at paradise pier?

We are planning a trip in oct. to DL. I know we can use our points to stay at paradise pier but was wondering that because of the MANY hotels nearby is it worth using 50 points for 2 nights. Also we would love some other recomendations as far as hotels in the LA area go, afordable but close to everything.

We're planning on staying at Paradise Pier next June (2006) on the way back from a Hawaiian Cruise. I thought about using points, but it just didn't seem worth it to me. The rates for Paradise Pier seemed very reasonable, so we've decided to just pay cash.

I saw hotels like at the ramada across the street for $60 a night. So that is why I am even questioning staying at paradise pier. It is about $200 to stay there if I don't use my points.

Call MS and check the dates again...the point requirements have been lowered for DLR. Please post what the new rate is. I checked for the Disneyland Hotel and it went from 31 down to 23 per night.

DL hotel has been discounted but the others are the same. Thanks for the tip. I think that is what we will do.
