DVC point price increase..

what do you think the hawaii points will be for the new hawaii resort? any one care to quess? If you now own a resort, I believe it is 160 points for one week in maui. But, for the new kolina do you think it will take more points or just cost more per point?

It will be interesting to see with the price increase if we see the ROFR prices start to increase. So far, I haven't noticed an increase in the ROFR prices.

A couple of thoughts..

While this is a difficult time for the American economy, this is a great time for Canadians to buy DVC(for us, the exchange rate is fantastic)

My understanding is that the second largest group of DVC owners is from the UK (Americans are #1). They have good buying power too!

Regarding re-sale??

What I Just bought......

100 pt add-0n March UY
$96 /point with 2057
got the 07 points with no dues for 07
My total was $9600 (no closing costs and no hassle)

I think it was a good deal!!

Looked at resale.... most contract were $73
ALL the contracts I could find in resale for $73 were stripped of 07 points
Here is how I looked at it

Re-Sale on 100 points = 7300
Extension (I wanted) = 1500
Value of 100 '07 pts @ rental value 1000 (actually up to $1200)

Total before closing costs $9800

Since you must purchase 160 points for a new contract. I can see going resale for a new smaller contract but for an add-on, no way!!
You still need to add closing costs.... the way I see it, it was a better value to buy directly from Disney!! Cheaper and less hassle.

DONT FORGET THE FRENCH.

The French will finally be able to buy something outside their own country now that the dollar is falling in value. And if you consider that they only work 28-30 hours a week and they get 10+ weeks a year off for Holiday, it is obvious that Disney is directly targeting them. What with their incredible buying power and tons of free downtime, the parks will be crawling with French. It will remind the old timers of England and Spain when those ingenius Germans figured out that the Maginot Line ended instead of protecting the entire border. :rotfl2:

Good news is that if we see any French Nationals in the parks we can now turn the tables on them and act Snooty to them.

I don't know if you were joking but we were just there 2/26 thru 3/13 and I made a comment to my husband that I was surprised by the number of French speaking that are at WDW this time(we go 2 X a year usually Oct and March for 2 to 3 weeks) there usually are alot of English guest but rarely do you hear French???

Just returned and heard lots of French but what I heard was most certainly .... French Canadians!! As a Bilingual Canadian who has also travelled all over the world and also worked in France, I am certain!

I must be going to another store.....I don't find the staff there to be particularly knowledgeable...or that happy go lucky for that matter. It seems people on these boards know way more than them.

The doorway to dreams is the only way to go.
I don't want to brag but I've made a friend at this store and he (David) has showered me with gifts every time I go there with the kids.

Last weekend he gave us the Disney H20 shampoo and conditioner as a handout.

When we added on our points we got the incentives I mentioned but also got the standard issue tote bag but I didn't want to let this cat out of the bag...we got a mickey mouse hat box.
Yep, red, black and yellow very nice. I think these are limited editions for special guests who add on ppts at the store.

The store is unbelievable, its' a full mock up of annimal kingdom villas with a mural for the savannah view. Flat screen TV's no corners cut here.

If anyone is in the Chicago area stop by Woodfield Mall by Nordstrom's on the 2nd floor is Doorway to Dreams store and ask for David, tell him mousemania sent you and don't be afraid to ask for the H20 shampoo and conditioner, don't let him hold out on you.

Actually, I'd be interested in knowing that myself..I am not sure why this person is recommending David...when they have posted that their wife works in the store :confused3

So what kind of commission are you getting? :lmao:

My wife works there, she said their phone system was out yesterday that's why it kept ringing.
All is up and running now.

FYI:
You need to go there in person to purchase or add on.

The doorway to dreams is the only way to go.

OK - i have gotten confused.....

Did the price go up for OKW as well to $101 or will that happen on April 1st?:confused3

Are they offering the extended contracts on these new prices for all the older resorts or just OKW. I don't understand why anyone would pay over $100pp with a 2042 expiration! I'd wait for them to announce the longer contracts before dishing out so much money (or buy resale before then for way less).
