DVC point or cash discount for cruise ?

Just wondering if any one had booked a cruise using DVC points and got any compensation after DCL had reduced the price ?

Eg. the East bound May Mediterrean transatlantic cruise went on sale with the 3rd, 4th and 5th passengers for $99-189 pp, but when I called DVC they stated that the cash price would be $1679 .

The cruise points are fixed for the year, regardless of what the cash prices do.
