Do DVC members get any special parking like AAA diamond parking?

The diamond parking came in handy with a toddler, stroller, etc.

If you purchase a trip package to WDW from AAA, they include the Diamond Parking Pass with the package. Gives you close up parking (kind of next to Handicapped parking).

I've gotten mixed info on Diamond Parking, but I've never used it myself, so I don't know. I've been told it is only provided when you book through AAA (which makes sense), but I've also been told that all you have to do is stop by an AAA office, show your AAA card and they give you the permit.

Does anyone know, for sure, that you can get it just for showing your AAA card?

I just went online to my AAA account and went to purchase tickets only. It was very clear that for any parkhopper purchase over 4 days in length, the parking pass would be included. This was a ticket only purchase, not a vacation package. It actually directed me to a customized disney web page to order the tickets.
