Do people really rent DVC units on VRBO?
I found a studio for the week we want but there are no reviews so I am suspicious.

Is it one week rental? If so, I would stay away. It might be an II exchanged rented out and it's not allowed. If DVC finds out you're renting an exchange, they can cancel it without refund.
If it's not a full week, I would double and triple check VRBO terms and conditions. If the reservation is not honored, will they refund you fully?
All in all, I would say the risk is a bit too high for me to be comfortable with it.

The tell is if there is a $190 fee that is due to the resort on check-in. If so, it's an exchange.
I asked a few questions and suddenly it’s no longer available which is even more suspicious. I’m using a different site,

Yeah. I decided that too. It was $300 night for AKL studio Savannah view which seems quite low compared to anything else I see.

Plenty of good (and legit) folks on this site that rent points/reservations ….
