DVC Newbie with 2 ??

My DH and I recently bought into BLT , and with that got our "free" stay at SSR.

Two Questions:

1. We want to send some food/water to SSR for our trip. How soon in advance do we need to do this? Also, how do we send it?

2. Do DVCers get a discount on the DDP? Our guide said yes, but the planners on the phone said no...

No discount on the DDP but you are allowed to purchase it even though you are not buying a room and ticket package. You do get a discount on AP's.

We just got back from SSR using developer points as well. Had a great trip and enjoyed the resort a lot. There is a special thread here somewhere for SSR lovers and it has all the experts and tons of pics and info on it.

Not sure about sending the water... we had ours delivered along with some groceries.

Susan is correct and your guide was wrong. You'd be amazed at how wrong some of the guides can be.

My mom (works for DRC) said there is a rumor floating around about DDP discounts for DVC. Nothing confirmed, but its going around the DRC office. Maybe???

Do DVCers get a dining discount?

DDP discount? - No
Annual pass discount & TIW eligibility? - Yes

You are eligible to buy the TIW if you buy annual passes (which are DVC discounted). Your guide could have been referring to TIW as a "dining discount".

Unless you want to count that you don't have to buy your ticket from Disney to get the DDP, so that is a savings, especially if you have old tickets from a previous trip or you bought discounted tickets from a reseller.

As far as the water goes, i'd have it delivered the day of or the day before you arrive. Make sure it has your name on it, and put something like "for YourEveryDayAdam guest arriving on XX/XX/2009". It should go to bell services. Then when you get there and get to your room, call bell services and they will deliver it for you. Please be sure to tip the bellman.
