DVC "Mystery Points"

Have any of you ever discovered unexpected or additional DVC points in your account that - by all rights - shouldn't be there? Not that I have this problem......but a "friend" discovered 20 points that should not be there.

Any suggestions...

Once I had the points from a one night studio stay put back in my account. I did call, and the CM even let me bank them. Well, a few days later I was notified of the mistake and the points were gone, as they should have been.
Don't ask me what happened to have seen them back in my account in the first place.

My statement showed 12 points left over at the end of my last use year. I know that I used them all and could see where the error was but when I tried to explain that to MS they couldn't understand it. I did a day-by-day booking last year and they changed the ressie but never deducted the points for the one of the days. MS actually told me to bank them but when they tried to do it, they got a message that there were no points to bank. She said "I just don't understand this". I gave up.

Right now, I have a reservation for 2 nights at BLT in December. But next to it, it says "reservation points", not "vacation points" like it does for my August VWL stay.

So far, these points are not showing up as deducted from my 2009 BLT points. I don't know if this is because I don't have the BLT points yet or what.

Not that concerned about it since I don' t travel until December and I am sure by then they will be deducted. If it is not right by then, I will contact MS to have it fixed.

I think that is yet another DVC IT glich because the resort isn't open yet it shows as Reservation points. The same think happened I believe with kidani when it started booking.

Never mind

When we bought our resale contract last year, it had 20 points from 2007. The confusion was in that our original resale contract (that DVC ROFR'd us on) had no 2007 points. Anyhow, that's where our mystery points came from.

It's good to where they came from...

To my surprise after checking on the DVC website we found that we were given our points back from a trip we took last year. After a problem with our room at AKV we were moved into a regular concierge room since they were full. From what I understand, the manager decided to give us our points back. I called DVC, since we didn't feel we should have points back. We did stay there for the week and enjoyed our trip very much. So instead, they put the points in holding. They did get used to extend a later trip, so we much appreciated the gesture.

We too got our points credited back to us for a week at AKV following an awful week at AKV. We didn't ask for the points back at all, but following a 5 page letter of complaint to Member Satisfaction plus the photos we took of the original room, we were told by MS that the manager had credited them back to us.
