OK, besides taking photos, what did we do? Well, we relaxed.
We had six (6) dinners at The Wave, and two (2) at Kona Café. We had seven (7) breakfasts at The Wave and one (1) at Kona Café. Yes, we only ate at two restaurants during the entire 8-night trip. Not much variety, eh? But it was simple and easy, and thats what we wanted this trip. No California Grill or Citricos.
My goal this trip was to take a lot of early morning and sunset photos using the tripod we have stashed in one of our two Owners Lockers. Imagine my surprise when I open the Owners Locker on Saturday and find out that the quick-release plate was not on the tripod, making it unusable. I must have taken it home after the last trip. Aargh!
A rush order was placed with B&H Photo on Saturday night and the missing part arrived via FedEx on Tuesday morning 2 days later. I didnt feel that bad, as the weather was very overcast and the skies were completely gray. So, even if I had the part, I wouldnt have been out shooting. The day the part arrived the clouds broke into partly cloudy perfect shooting weather.
What parks did I visit and what did I do? Well, DW didnt go into a park at all, and I only managed to make it over to the MK once to ride the Seven Dwarves Mine Train (my first time), as well as Pirates of the Caribbean (to try some dark ride shots). It kind of makes me wonder why I still have an Annual Pass.
Otherwise, I just got up early for photography or was out at sunset for the same. Oh yeah, we at The Wave a lot (did I already say that?). During mid day, I'd walk around the resort or simply enjoy the view from our room on the 12th floor.
We did enjoy Holiday Wishes from our balcony every night they had
MVMCP. And I did attend the
DVC Annual Meeting.
But otherwise, it was just another relaxing vacation! That's just how the DVC Mike family rolls.
