DVC Merchandise

Going to the BWV for one night in a couple of weeks and as a new member I would love to buy SOMETHING DVC. Is this merchadise (sweatshirt, car sticker, etc) out on the general floor or do I have to ask for it. (for some reason I think I remember reading somewhere that you have to ask for it as it is kept behind the counter....did I dream that? lol)

They have some things on the floor at BWV. As with all the DVC resorts there is not that much in merchandise. Out of all the DVC resorts I have been to so far, the one at SSR had the most DVC items available.(which isn't much) I think in October I remember seeing a DVC pullover windbreaker, stickers, magnets, maybe key chains.

The dedicated resorts, SSR and OKW typically have the most DVC related merchandise.

They have some things on the floor at BWV. As with all the DVC resorts there is not that much in merchandise. Out of all the DVC resorts I have been to so far, the one at SSR had the most DVC items available.(which isn't much) I think in October I remember seeing a DVC pullover windbreaker, stickers, magnets, maybe key chains.

We were at SSR just a couple of weeks ago, and in addition to these items mentioned, I saw a DVC member t-shirt and a couple of options of DVC Christmas tree ornaments (one flat oval, and the other a dimensional mousehead) - and them a couple of resort specific shirts for men & women. It wasn't a whole lot of stuff though... more generic WDW merchandise than anything else.

I was at BCV, AKV-Jambo, and went over to AKV Kidani. All 3 places had the same kind of DVC stuff in their gift shops. Generic key chains, glasses, some jackets, etc. Unfortunately, though, I wanted to see some resort specific DVC merchandise, and I found none. I guess I'd better hang on to my BCV polo shirt-seems to be a collector's item. Anyone else wish they could find DVC merchandise that's resort specific?

Isn't there a specific DVC/Resort pin that you have to ask about in order to get it? (I thought I read that here somewhere).

I was there last week. We visited SSR, BCV, VWL, AKV, OKW while there. Other than the couple of trinkets mentioned above and a left over shirt here and there, there wasn't much of anything DVC. 2 shelves on a small rack at the most. Very disappointing.

This is another example of more disappearing DVC stuff (see disappearing perks thread) and DVC members being treated as 2nd class citizens. You would think there would be more DVC merchandise AND resort specific DVC merchandise with over 100,000 DVC families!

There was no shortage of gaudy Disney/Mickey/Wdw merchandise with 2009 plastered all over it. You know, the types of items that CASH customers that come once in a life time or every 5 years would buy. These types of items are the last thing we want. So, we didn't buy anything.

Absolutely agree. We are at Kidani now, not a lot of DVC merchandise (windbreaker, polo, coffee mug, shot glass, beer glass, and womens long sleeve black shirt). Jambo had the same, except a couple of beech towels (which we got). Then we drove to OKW and SSR. They had the same, except a t-shirt, hat and 2 different x- mas decorations.Boardwalk, had the same items as Kidani. Very disapointing. I didn't see any resort specific items.Just a lot of the same ole Disney world items.

It was reported here in the past month or so that most resort-specific merchandise (esp clothing) was being discontinued..
I think they said they were continuing the pins?
