DVC Merchandise!

Who is in control of ordering? You can go on ebay and find all these great things that were givaways ie fannypacks,playing cards, nerf footballs, nerf toy computors, key chains! umbrellas! How many of those would they sell etc. etc.
I guess my question is! They already have a company making these things why can't they just order more and stock our resorts with them? NO all we get is ugly overpriced shirts, shot glasses and logo golf balls with a black and white picture NOT even color! Someone in management is missing something!

At the store in VB my wife wanted a nice ladies shirt with the DVC Vero logo. They had a couple mens golf shirts, but nothing but t-shirts & sweat shirts for ladies. They had tons of Mickey "surfer dude" wear and other Jimmy Buffet type cloths that are readily availible at the mall for half the price. i did buy a golf shirt for myself but I really hated paying $52.00 for it. It didn't even come with a small jar of vaso... never mind.

Tom I've had the same complaint about DVC from just about Day One. In fact, I have the same complaint about Disney merchandise as well. I've got money burning a hole in my pocket that would be buying classy items like golf shirts, wallets, luggage, watches, home wares, ties, etc., etc. if someone at Disney and DVC would just provide the goods.

My sister and I have been saying the same thing for a while. Even just a few years back you would be able to find SOME nice Disney (not necessarily DVC) mechandise in the parks of DD, now it seems like all they sell are cheesy t-shirts and stuffed animals. I think it goes back to Disney's catering to the 'once in a lifetime' visitors rather than repeat guests. Those of us that return year-after-year (or multiple times per year) aren't interested in the 'Mickey t-shirts' but rather some classy/distinctive Disney merchadise.

I was at OKW 2 weeks ago and didn't see anything good in the store. I got the card for the online guest survey last Saturday, I mentioned it in the section for store satisfaction.

We got what appears to be a excellent backpack upon joining. Leather and blue canvas. We will see how long it holds up to my 4 year old's abuse though.

I absolutely agree with you all! The only decent items that I think have been reasonably priced are the collector pins of DVC and the DVC etched pilsner glasses. My DD bought two of them for us at VWL for our 25th anniversary last summer. Much better than champagne glasses, IMHO, although my DW might argue with me.

The lithographs are expensive and of poor quality and don't even get me started on the quality of the DVC apparel for the quality offered.

I'm afraid the Disney stores themselves have the same problem. IMHO, it's just one of the reasons that Disney stock is worth about half what it was a few years ago.

... you mentioned the trading pins. The Orlando Sentinal had an article about Universal jumping on the pin trading bandwagon because of the Disney success. It also stated that Disney pays 0.10 per pin and retails them for $6.00 - $10.00. Not a bad profit margin.

We bought at OKW when it was just "Disney Vacation Club" & shortly thereafter, I bought a wonderful t-shirt. It was longer, so it was great to wear as a cover-up or w/ leggings. I loved that shirt and therefore I wore it to death & it went to the place where all good t-shirts go. I have never since found any shirt (DVC or otherwise) that I wanted to buy at OKW, BWV, VB or HH. While at HH, I went to the Disney outlet hoping to find something. My only memorable Disney (not DVC) t-shirt score came from the discount rack at DS. A wonderful black & white photo about Walt. Everytime I wear this shirt at WDW, I get questions or comments about it. I've never seen it again & it is close to going to the place where all good t-shirts go. HELP Disney, I want to spend $$, but you are not helping me.
