I called Disney Visa and got new cards that have DVC embossed on them. I know they actually check that you are a member...so will disney accept the embossed credit card as legit proof of dvc membership or do I need to carry that card too (for discounts etc). And when will that be linked to magic bands because...hello...still have to carry card. And AP card too right? (We have to pick up at will call, dont know what physical thing I will have...)

To receive any available discount, you need to show proof of discount (AP/DVC Member ID, TiW Card/Disney Rewards Visa Card, etc.) and a photo ID. A Disney Rewards Visa w/DVC notation is only proof of the Disney Rewards Visa discount.

Disney has never said that discounts will be automatic just because you have a MagicBand.

The credit card company will quite literally add anything you want to the card, so it's not proof of DVC membership. There's also a startling lack of consistency. Mine says "Disney Vacation Member", likely because I was misheard on the phone requesting it.

I called to get the embossing added and changed the card design while I was at it. 3 days later I get new design, no dvc notation. I called and they said they were checking on paperwork or something (I assumed they actually checked with dvc?) but because we also got new design it was sent through. So waited a few days later to get another set.

I am immediately calling back to get "Queen of the World" embossed underneath if that is the case.

I'm hoping someone in this thread can help me. I just called Chase to get my DVC embossing and I spoke with tier 1 and tier 2 customer support and neither had any idea what I was talking about. Was there any secret handshake that you used to get them to emboss the card for you?

Mine says Charter Member underneath. I don't think it means one bit of diff for anything if you have DVC on there or not. I wouldn't sweat it.

I was one of the original Disney Credit Card holders over 10 years ago and have Disney Vacation Club on it. Never got me anything.

Didn't know that DVC was available as a design..

We upgraded about 2 months ago to Premiere Card...I chose a cute design but didn't know that DVC was available as a design????:confused3 Interesting...

It's a Disney thing for me. I would bet 99% of the people I handed the card to would not notice what it said or even if the did they wouldn't know what it meant. I just thought it would be cool to have the castle design with DVC member embossed on it. My own mindset of membership has its privileges.

EVERYONE comments on my cute Mickey and Minnie Design on my Premiere Disney Card...LOVE the nice pinkish color too! Got my DH a plain blue card as he doesn't like designs. I was SURPRISED that most store clerks comment that it is SO CUTE!:goodvibes

jerseygal - I don't think DVC is available as a design, only that (assuming it's one of the cards in their Disney/Chase partnership) you can get the words "Disney Vacation Club" or similar embossed on the line underneath your name.

That's what I was trying to do and neither rep could help. One told me it wasn't possible and the second said it had to be done when you applied.

I simply can't take all the cards I have potential for. I've had them take the CC with the DVC info on it and I've had them take a picture of my blue card. While they could say no, it hasn't happened to us.

How often do you go? Is it possible that they simply recognize you as a DVC member? I could certainly see that happening if you go to WDW frequently and use your discount regularly.

We probably average about 1.5-2 weeks a year but I don't ever recall anyone acting like or saying they'd seen us before at restaurants, shopping, resorts or parks so I don't think that's it. I have seen posts from others that seemed to have an issue that only the card would have gotten them past but I don't recall any of those saying they had pictures of their card. I use an iPhone program that tracks cards. I do seem to recall people posting that having the CC with DVC member on it wasn't enough.
