We just used our Disney Visa to book part of our West Coast cruise next summer. We are sailing partially on points, but with five of us, we we also had to pay part cash.

According to the current "promo" we should receive a $50 onboard credit per cabin for using our Disney Visa correct?

Have any of you who had to book through Member Services used your Visa? If so, did you have any problems with obtaining that perk? I know that when we book through Member Services, it's not like a travel agency, etc. It's hard to know because DCL really doesn't know "who we are" until a few weeks before the cruise due to the way they link up with DVC. It's all confusing to me!!!

Any suggetions if we don't get our "credits"?

I don't think they have extended the offer to 2005 yet. From what I've seen it says until 12/31/04. I'm hoping they extend it because we are also sailing on the West Coast cruise and i would really like the onboard credit.

But, is that a booking deadline (shipboard credit) or a sailing deadline? :worried:

"Offer valid for most sailings through 12/30/04." So you must sail before 12/30/04.

Bummer! Oh well.........I'm still going!!!! LOL

Maybe we'll luck out and get a similar offer!

We got this for our 9/9 cruise and they had a little note in our cabin when we checked in confirming it. HOWEVER, when I checked our bill the next day, it wasn't applied. Had to stop in with Member Services and they took care of it but it took a day.

I paid for our entire 11/28 Land/Sea with Disney Visa. While onboard, I went to guest services to inquire about the onboard credit. They said they had no record of it. They told me to get the confirmation number from my travel agent. I contacted my travel agent yesterday. She said my trip needed to be booked with a special code in order to receive this onboard credit. (???) She contacted Disney and said they won't have an answer for me for another 2-3 weeks. This stinks! :(

Here is another thread on this subject:http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=684277&page=1&pp=15

ps. I'm not a DVC member.

Disney's Visa $50 Onboard Credit Offer for 2004 and 2005 Cruises

Disney's Visa cardholders can get a $50 stateroom credit for any cruise sailing now through the end of 2005. Receive a $50 onboard credit when you or your travel agent book a Disney Cruise Line vacation with your Disney's Visa card.

Other discounts do not apply; not combinable with any other onboard credit offers. The onboard credit is per stateroom for each stateroom occupied by an adult Disney's Visa card cardholder. Credit good toward merchandise, spa treatments, shore excursions and other onboard activities. Any unused portions are non-refundable and non-transferable. Thanks to Beth and Diana at Small World Vacations for updated info.

To get the Disney's Visa $50 stateroom credit when booking a 2004 or 2005 cruise, be sure to use a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel, charge the cruise to your Disney's Visa card, and mention booking code DCC.

Great - guess I'll call Costco today and see if they can put the credit through!

We used our points and paid for the same room, and MS would not let us add the Visa credit--they said it was a special type of booking and they could not do so. :guilty:

Just talked to Costco and they will put in for it when our final payment is made! Another $50 to spend.

I am hoping when DH calls Member Services today that we won't get the runaround. Have any of you booked through DVC? We paid part points and part cash. The cash was through Disney Visa.

Unfortunately, DVC folks don't "get to" make payments on their cash option. We are forced to pay in full up front. Somehow this makes me feel a little "cheated" because we have made all this investment in DVC, and we can't do payments like everyone else!

Oh well.........again. This isn't going to stop me from taking this cruise! No way!!!!! :cool1:

Well......... DH talked to Member Services twice and Bank One twice. It appears that because we didn't book our cruise and pay "all cash", we don't qualify. Kinda disappointing given our financial commitment to Disney with the DVC. I still use the Visa to build points, but again I feel sometimes like DVC members don't get those little "perks" that would be nice. Remember we had to charge the full amount up front. No payments for us!!

Again...........NOTHING IS KEEPING ME OFF THAT BOAT!!!!! :boat:
