dvc members - do we get discount if not staying on points?

hi - we are DVC members and go once a year for 2 weeks on points - im wondering if we we booking a room at maybe one of the non dvc Disney resorts do we get any discount off the normal price and if so how do we do this??

Sorry but there are no DVC discounts off the rate at the non-DVC resorts. The best way to gret a discount there is to get APs and get the AP rate. They do allow you to stay there on points but they are much higher than at a DVC resort.

for dvc resorts thru MS you can get a 25% off the DVC resorts - but the current offer than WDW is having is better

There is a DVC discount of 25% off the rack rate at DVC resorts. These reservations must be booked through DVC Member Services, not Disney, and the discount isn't always available.

Otherwise, annual pass holder discounts are usually the best for non-DVC resorts.

I don't think any of the cash rates for 2011 have been released, yet.

If you are going for 2 weeks, get an Annual Pass, that typically will get you up to 40% off rooms at Deluxe and DVC rooms. As a DVC member you get $100 off the AP. With the AP, you can buy the Tables in Wonderland Dining discount card. That is 20% off drinks and meals at most dining locations.
