DVC members booking future cruise while onboard

I've been doing some research on Disney cruises - thinking maybe of 2013. I've come to learn that if you book a future cruise while on a cruise, there are cash incentives. If we were on a cruise, and wanted to book a future cruise while onboard using points (which I know is not necessarily the best use of points) or a points/cash combination - are there are incentives for us? For example, would it require fewer points than if booking while not on a cruise? Am I making sense?

Long story short: Are there point incentives for booking a future cruise while onboard?

They cannot handle booking with points on board but there is an incentive for booking a cruise on points within a couple of days after getting off a cruise.

I do not know the details or the restrictions.

I have no experience doing this but I have been told on my last cruise that you have three days after getting off the boat to convert your future reservation to dvc points. you still keep the 10% discount (reduction on your points). not positive but I believe you keep stateroom credit as well.

You have three days from the day you disembark to call MS and get a point discount. The discount is only 5% to 8% and you do not get the OBC.

When I did it last year, I had 3 business days to call in and I got a 10% discount on the points.
