My husband and I both have our names on our DVC contracts. Our children are getting older and starting to use our points when we aren't with them. Is there a way to add them to our membership? I'd like to see them be able to take advantage of things like the EPCOT lounge. Thanks!

As far as I know it's quite straight forward but I think you need a solicitor to make the changes.

It would require a new deed to be filed with the county in which the property is located. You can pay someone to do it for you, or do it yourself. It's also required that the transfer go thru the ROFR process, which is typically granted for this type of transfer as long as money does not change hands.

I would at least think through what could go wrong.
Florida has a special category for real estate in name of husband and wife that makes it difficult for a creditor to take your property in the event if a bankruptcy. You would lose this protection if other people are on the deed.

If your children have student loans or other debt, and go into default, your timeshare becomes available to satisfy their debt (at least their share, but you might have to sell to give them their share).

If your children are in professions that are prone to be sued, like say a OB/GYN, then the timeshare could be included in a judgement against them.

Also divorces can be messy.

If none of these seem applicable to your situation, then it is pretty straightforward to add them to your deed.

No lawyer required for FL resorts but one would need to get waiver of ROFR from DVC, get a new deed recorded and then notify DVC of the transfer with a copy of the recorded deed.

Thanks everyone. Such great information and advice. We will think this through. There is a lot to consider. Thanks!
