We're considering the Member Cruise for next year (Sept.'11) but have a couple of questions.

- Does anyone remember what the point/$$ price was for the cruise? I know it will be different next year, but wanted to get a ball park idea

- For those who have taken the Member Cruise in the past, did you think it was worth it?

We've cruised 4 times with DCL and absolutely love it. Thought this might be a good way to try the Dream.

TIA for any input.

I'm also interested in pricing. How long are the cruises. Any ballpark ideas of price pp for the lowest category.

I think it's a 4 night cruise - Castaway, Sea day, Castaway - but I could be wrong. I also think they are more expensive than regular cruises but that there are a lot of special activities and giveaways.

Hopefully someone who has experienced one of the cruises will post more accurate info.

We, too, are planning on the 2011 member cruise so hopefully we'll see ya around the boat. DVC News had the details about last year's member cruise here. From the pricesheet provided, though, it appears as if a veranda (Cat. 6) cost $1,188 per person and a child of 6 cost $542. However, since the cruise is taking place on the Dream in 2011, I personally think that the prices might be a bit lower than that since the Dream prices are so good (well, good compared to the Wonder). :goodvibes

Another question to add to the list ... When you book, can you ask for or reserve a particular stateroom?

And, don't forget that the tips are included in the price (at least, they were for 2009 and 2010).

The 2011 cruise will be Sept. 18 -22, 2011.

Hi Mickey4me! We are also considering the member cruise for next year. We have never been on one before and I hear they are great. They give away lots of DVC goodies.
We are going on a RCL cruise this fall and I am really hoping that it won't be at the same time as booking day for the member cruise.

P.S. We are neighbors of sorts, I think you are not too far from us here in VA.

We definitely are neighbors! We're halfway between C'ville and Richmond and actually a couple miles closer to C'ville. Hopefully we'll see you on the Dream next year for the Members Cruise. We took a RCL cruise this past April from NJ to Bermuda for 5 days and it was nice....no DCL mind you, but still a nice getaway. Hope you enjoy yours!

Really?!?! I wasn't aware of that! Definitely helps to justify it....Thanks for the info!

Of course we are adding some days at BCV on after our cruise. I can't be in FL and not go to WDW! I am hoping that they open up the booking early for first timers to the DVC cruise like they have done in the past.
I checked out your posts about your other cruise. We are close to the same age and we have a 22 year old son. It certainly is a small world and I love to hear about others who are as crazy about Disney as I am!:yay:

We're just the opposite... we were already planning a stay at VWL next September, but we're thinking of "adding on" the Member Cruise because it ends just 3 days prior to when we were planning on arriving!! Early booking for first timers would be awesome!!
