DVC Member Cruise 2008 Points Chart is Up

Now how do we find out the cash price for each room:confused3

I called MS and they would not give me the prices. They just assume that what ever price they charge will be fine with everyone, I guess. They said they will not give it out until you call to book on the 17th.

The CM was very cranky as well.

That doesn't seem right at all.

That is strange. I sent an e-mail and they responded that I had to call MS to get the cash prices. What is the big secret? :confused3

Wow this is fabulous! I have heard of DCL Land/Sea cruises, but none combining Europe! :cheer2: Would love to visit Germany one day myself! I assume you are coming from Hawaii perhaps? We are discussing the Member Cruise ourselves and may be joining you on it!

LOL, yes, coming from Hawaii, so I think Germany is 12 hrs off from us. (well, maybe 11 after DST). I could prepay the hotel (we'd stay at the military hotel) and use points for the cruise, so it might all work out perfect!!

Plus, being in Hawaii has made it harder to use our points. We were in Jacksonville so we went to Disney often.

It would be a post-deployment trip.

rparmfamily....sounds like you have a great plan :thumbsup2

Funny...I was just looking into a trip to Germany yesterday....for Oktoberfest :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 but the idea of traveling there all the way from Hawaii didn't sound too good.

But....a Disney DVC member cruise sure makes it sound good again!

Aloha,
Jen

I did call MS this morning to find out cash prices for next years cruise and they are as follows.

Cat 11 = $869
Cat 10 = $ 916
Cat 9 = $ 944
Cat 8 = $992
Cat 7 = $1081
Cat 6 = $1147
Cat 5 = $1195
Cat 4 = $1384
Cat 3 = $2264

I was told all kids will be $542 each.

Based on this years cruise. It will cost us about $500 less four our family of 4 next year from this year.

Does this also include the tips if you pay cash? What are the terms? Money down and cancelation policy? I am very interested but do not have enough points so I will need to pay cash. Thank you for the info.

The full terms and conditions are actually listed on the DVC Member website. However, I can tell you that DVC Members are required to pay all cash portions in full at time of booking. There is nothing mentioned about tips being included. Typically tips are a separate item for all Disney Cruises. There is also typically a booking fee of $75 for the cruise (this is rising to $95 after 1/1/08).

Also, I assume all prices shown in Cobbler's post would be per person.

Payment is due in full at time of booking. They usually waive the booking fee, at least for the member cruise this year they did. And all tips were included. The prices are per person.

I believe this past year was the only year that tips were included in the Member Cruise price. I know the first one I went on did not include tips, they were paid separately. Since there has been no announcement (yet) of tips being included, we have to assume they are not. Would be nice though...since I am hoping to go too!

Actually they have been included on all but the 2003 cruise. I think most members expect it now so I'm thinking they will be included.

The prices are not as high as I thought. I may have to talk with Dh about this one.

Does anyone know how the points work for solo cruisers? I know that when I pay cash I only pay 150% but if I used points would it automatically be double points?

Oh wow that is great! I wonder why they don't mention it on the Member website, however?

Mary, do you know if they have waived the booking fee for those same cruises as well?

Thank u :)

Carol,

Yes the booking fee has been waived for them. They do tell you that if you make any changes you will have to pay a booking fee at that point, but not for the initial booking.

I think the phones are going to be very busy on the 17th.

Wonder if we should get in chat like we've done in previous years. It helped to have the encouragement of others when booking. We didn't do it last year as people booked on so many different days (due to the first time cruiser raffle) but we had fun in previous years with it.

I have talked to a lot of people after the cruise that we ran into at Disney, not necessarily Dis'ers either. Everyone I spoke with that was on this years cruise say they are NOT going to be booking for next year. I talked to 4 families and said not for 08 but maybe again for 09.

I think I will be doing the dialing derby, 2 cell phones and one house phone.
