DVC Member Behind the Scenes Soarin' vs. Backstage Magic ABD?

Can anyone confirm whether this would be anything different than what's covered within the Backstage Magic ABD at California Adventure?

I was looking at that tour myself. Unfortunately it appears to only be on wednesdays, which we typically don't hit on our park visits. But to answer your question it does seem to be the same tour we did on abd's backstage magic a few years ago. It was one of the highlights of the park days for us. I'd do it again in a heartbeat

The DVC Soarin' Tour is very hard to get. Only 20 people per week get to go, and if each member brings 3 guests, that would be only 5 DVC members per week who get to go. You might get lucky, but this is more of a marketing thing than a practical thing you can actually do.
