I just noticed this was listed when I went to review my magic bands. Today is my last day to customize

magicBand.entitlement.levelN.DVC_MEMBER

This must have appeared a few days ago. I wonder what entitlements are loaded in the bands ? Has anyone else notice this ?

Nothing is stored on the actual MagicBand except for a unique band id number. The MagicBand along with your room reservation, admission, FP+ selections, etc. are all linked to a MDE profile. The MagicBand is just a key to reading data stored on your MDE profile.

It's possible that some of the handheld scanners can see more detailed information from your profile.

All of the scanners read the UniqueID from the MagicBand, and use that to pull information out of the central database. It's what's stored in the database that really matters.

I also see the "magicBand.entitlement.levelN.DVC_MEMBER" listing on our MagicBands customization page (screenshot below). Maybe the rumors were true about DVC members getting special entitlements, like an additional FastPass or something? Who knows? But it's clear that they can tell by your magic band if you're a DVC member or Passholder, since those are both things that MDE allows you to configure. What they do with that information is going to be interesting, I think. We'll be adding passes at the end of the month, so we'll see if this updates to show both then.

Hmmm I just logged in and I see that now too, it definitely wasn't there a few days ago.

Anyway, it might be just to avoid to check the DVC card for discounts or pool hopping. I would not count on additional FP+ (but it would be sweet!)

Disney had specifically mentioned the possibility of additional FP for certain "classes" of guest, and specifically mentioned passholders and DVC members. Now, mostly they were saying it was technically possible. Whether or not there is a business case for doing it, and if so, what are the drawbacks, those will determine whether or not they do it. But again, that the MDE site/app does have a specific section of the profile for you to add "affiliations" like your DVC membership and your passes, it stands to reason that they had at least considered doing it.

Of course, Disney "considers" doing a lot of things that get changed at the last possible moment.

I have three different MB reservations set-up (one at SSR) and I don't see this on my customization page.

Where are you seeing this? I can't see the screenshot above.

Click on the customize your magic bands. You will see it then. Doesnt show just buy looking at the first Magic band page.

Mine says it too, hopefully will be something good!

for our upcoming May 1-5 trip at AKV we don't have that on our magic bands but our stay on Oct at OKW says magicBand.entitlement.levelN.DVC_MEMBER not sure if it is something to start later in may. Any one with an upcoming trip in early May have the magicBand.entitlement.levelN.DVC_MEMBER on there magic band? I know last time I talked to member service they told me that DVC members would be getting a slider for their magic bands i wonder if that is what magicBand.entitlement.levelN.DVC_MEMBER means?

I could be TOTALLY wrong, but I think it will be a slide of some sort like the AP holder ones. When I was on the phone with someone from Disney they mentioned the new "Magic Band Slides" so I'm guessing it is one that says Member or something. There are pics of the AP holder slide somewhere....

I haven't checked my reservation for summer, it could list a type of magic band now? Interesting.... off to check that out!

I just checked and nothing on our account either. Our trip starts April 30, so am guessing them could never arrive in time. But we also just got out Member I'd last week, so thought that was also a possible reason why. I would think any active MB on your account would link to show you are a DVc or AP holder. So the slide like the AP would make sense.

I see it too. It has to be something more than just a slider like the AP one because it doesn't say anything like that for AP holders.

I have 4 pending MB orders, and it says this underneath all of them.

Do you have an upcoming reservation at all with MBs to customize? You have to click on the customize now link and it takes you to that page, and that's where you see it. If you don't have an upcoming reservation you might not see it. I didn't see it at first until I clicked there.

I noticed it a couple of days ago when I got the email about finalizing my MB selections for our upcoming trips. We got 4 sets of MBs because of the way our waitlists came through (so 4 separate ressie numbers) - all had the "DVC" notation prior to shipping. The first 2 sets arrived in the mail yesterday - nothing special about them (no special slides).

I also seem to have lost access to my husband's band--his band for our upcoming trip is not showing his AP so I'm not able to make FP+ ressies for us both. This is what comes of me telling him to sign up too

I wonder whether this has something to do with how the reservation is booked, rather than whether the travelers are DVC members. My family has a reservation next month (May) as part of a convention for which we are paying cash at group rate. This reservation has 2 days left to customize bands (which we did but I guess it still sits there in case you want to make changes), and does NOT have this "magic band entitlement DVC" string on it anywhere. My family has 2 reservations for a split-stay starting in July, booked on points and both with plenty of time yet to customize the bands. Both of those reservations DO have the "magic band entitlement DVC" string there. Another variable is that our May/cash reservation is at Yacht Club (non-DVC resort) -- wonder if that has anything to do with it? Definitely interesting!
