DVC lounge- EPCOT

I’m glad to see people saying there are snacks there again. When I went in July right after reopening, it was beverages but no snacks.
Seems like you had to ask for the snacks from the beverage attendant when I was there. Is it back to self-serve now?

I’m not sure. When I was there in July, they weren’t offering snacks at all. When I had been there previously they had a huge basket with chips, Doritos, etc. so when I went up there last year and they didn’t have any snacks, I was a little disappointed. That said, I was just so happy to be there after several months of going back and forth about whether Disney would be open, if we should go even if they were open, that something small like that was not a big deal at all.

A few weeks ago (maybe 3 or 4 weeks) the attendant handed them out.

I have family that went today. Said they handed them cheez-itz when they went for a drink. She said they tasted weird and thinks they were whole grain :)

Kind of a nice place to cool off. Figment is a nice cool off spot as well with no wait. Now if we could just get them to add some new short films to the Pixar theatre!

I may be wrong, but IIRC it's not a self-service elevator. The person at the check-in desk had to get someone to operate the elevator. I believe this caused delays. So perhaps it might be appropriate to make the decision to use the stairs if you are able, and leave the elevator for people who are not able to use the stairs. (With the understanding that nobody knows if someone else might have difficulty with stairs so no judgment if someone takes the elevator.)

We walked up the steps, but a ECV group before us was led to the elevator around the corner. When we left, we ask to use the elevator and we’re just told sure as self-service. It was easier on our old legs than walking down stairs.

Just glad it is open. We did not visit on our last trip in 2019. We won't make that mistake this time around. Never planned that 2020 would not happen.

When we were there last week, there was a virtual waitlist to enter. We were placed on the waitlist and I received a text about 3 minutes later that we could enter. The snacks at the time were snack bags animal crackers.
I had about a 10 minute wait last week until they texted me and I could go up and be told where to sit. No coffee or tea pods available now, but the nice lady went ahead and poured me 2 drinks with ice. The snack basket had oreo cookies. While it was nice to have a choice of snacks before the pandemic when the cart came around, it was sometimes hit or miss if the cart came around while you were there. This way you will definitely get a snack. It's a nice place to sit and get out of the heat for a few minutes and the awesome butterfly house is close by in that area now. :-)

MY PERFECT DVC LOUNGE:
1. Is in every park.
2. Has room for everyone to sit down
3. Has AC
4. Has coffee
5. Has a bathroom
6. Has complimentary diapers. Because I don’t want to live in a world without them. Thank you, IKEA. (We no longer need them, but I can’t stand to see a parent struggle in this particular way.) (IKEA has them.) WDW should be better than Ikea.
So, basically, there should be an IKEA restaurant with bathrooms in every park reserved for DVC members.

We recently had an event at Epcot and asked if the DVC space was available as a backup in case there was rain. It was but when they walked off the area, it was a too small for the amount of guests.

It’s....nice. Definitely could use a rehab-someone described as a junior college vending machine area and that’s spot on. Love the freestyle machine and folks are very friendly. The bathroom is way out of the way and that’s a pain. We have spent maybe 20-30 minutes there on our last two visits. Nice break but not amazing (especially seeing it’s currently about the only available direct benefit )

I believe they generally need to call the elevator for you if you are on the bottom floor, but from the top you can definitely call it yourself and take it down.

Last time I was there in March, they were going around and giving out soft drinks. No self serve. That was about it.
