Dvc lounge closed...no set date to open

The Summer 2024 Disney Files Magazine just landed. It says the Epcot lounge has reopened (lol) "with a new elevator, a more distinctive name (DVC ImaginAtrium - A Member Lounge), a new sponsor (PPG) and an engaging new exhibit of archival images."

I assume they thought it would be open by now whenever they had to go to print.

More details later in the mag say it also got fresh paint. No mention of a restroom.

The elevator, for those with mobility issues or who feel tired The display/decor is probably nice too. Better than a sharp stick in the eye!

That’s a bummer! I haven’t heard anything about it being permanently closed, but the lack of a reopening date is definitely worrying. It might just be undergoing some renovations or updates. Hopefully, they’ll provide some clarity soon. Might be worth keeping an eye on any official announcements.

The work being performed is taking longer than anticipated. It will reopen when ready.

Even if it's still closed in October, with F/W starting soon, hopefully they'll at least have the temp spot in the Odyssey opened.

As far as spending money on a different perk, I’d rather a perk, that is available all year. We hardly ever get to the parks at the right time for moonlight magic or magnets or whatever. We gotten to two moonlight magics over the years and one was only by the kindness of another member.

The temporary lounge closed back in July and I don't expect Disney will make that space available to DVC during the festival.

As one with mobility issues and on an ECV, the elevator always worked when I used it. But lots of times I wished there was a restroom up there. And as far as renaming it, I'm reminded of a saying my grandmother used to have, "Titles and a dime will still only buy one cup of coffee" (a dime for a cup of coffee? It's a very old saying!)

DVC hasn't provided a new date, so no one here know when it will reopen.

I hadn't realized the temp lounge closed - and hoped the member lounge would be reopened by now. Scheduled to be there in mid-September. With no DVC lounge, has anyone heard if any of the other lounges were extended or reopened for Food & Wine? In June there was the Annual Passholder lounge in Morocco, and the old Disney Visa lounge in American Pavilion used to be a regular this time of year but has been gone since the pandemic. Strange to be loungeless in Epcot.

For me, the biggest perk of the member lounge is in Florida's 10 month summer - the air conditioning and bottomless drinks...I couldn't care less if it was an empty cement chamber if it had air conditioning and free drinks...I think it's one of the best member perks they've ever thought of - can't wait for the MK one, and maybe more at some point at the other FL parks.

They told me over Labor Day at the Springs “lounge” that it was getting close. I don’t think anyone customer-facing really has any idea. They’re just saying whatever. So anything you hear, take it with a grain of salt.
