Sorry I forget, as DVC members do we still get free local calls?

Also is a 738 prefix a local call from WDW?

Thanks

Members do not get free local calls, we get free 800# calls, no service charge like at the other resorts. Local calls for members staying on points are 35 cents (discounted from 75 cents at WDW resorts). I don't know about the other area code, I do know Kissimmee is not local.

Thanks much.

How about a 261 exchange?

Can't tell you about the telephone exchanges right now as to which are local or not, but....

when you get there, open the telephone book up. Near the front pages you'll find several charts that show which exchanges are local to each other. Simply find the chart that has your exchange in it (I don't know what it'll be but it'll be on your phone in your room), then check the chart to see what other exchanges are local to that one.

You have to be careful. Some places in Kissimmee are local, but many are not. Many places in Orlando are local even though they're farther than Kissimmee.

I presume you're looking for local numbers for an internet conntection?

Bill you presume correctly. I also sent an email to MS and will post their response.

It has been several years since I brought a computer to WDW.

Thanks

You have to be careful in Orlando as they have the local-long distsance set up. You could call a number you think is local and it end up being long distance. Just check with the hotel operator to make certain. Take any "local phone numbers" with you that you're ISP gives you.

618 in Winter Park is a local#...
I called the front desk at the BW before I went down so I didnt have to deal with it down there and they gave a feww different exchanges..they have a list at the desk.....
Winter Park and Orlando is where the # are from

I always call the operator once we have settled in so I can find out the local exchanges for calls and to connect to the internet.. best to ask , so you don't get a surprise...the CM's are very nice about helping you. I go through the numbers on the pick list from the ISP and verify what is local..Then I only pay $.35 per call. Don't know how the wireless will impact this though... I still think it is cheaper to pay 35 cents per call without a time limit, then a times wireless connection.
