Read something on the interwebs today about the company that operates the laundry on the non-DVC side (CSC) no longer accepting card payments from international cards.

Some of these guests are being allowed to use the DVC side. While I obviously feel bad for those who can't use the paid side any more, the solution is 100% NOT the DVC side. Our dues help pay for our use of the machines, not other guests. In some resorts it is next to impossible to find a working or available machine to begin with. Sorry, had to rant.

The solution would seem pretty easy...Disney could end the contract with the machine provider, purchase their own pay to use machines, and have guests purchase laundry cards at the front desk.
Since Disney already provides the maintenance and upkeep on the in=room wash dryers, adding the laundry room washers shouldn't require a major investment. OR tell the provider they NEED to accept international cards or loose the contract.
I would assume Universal could do the same.

Agree 100%! Washers and dryers are especially hard at the OG Poly because all the DVC units are studios, so no washers/dryers in the rooms.

Agreed, although they did just switch over to CSC recently (at least at WDW). The Boardwalk washers and dryers looked like they may have been brand new. Definitely it better shape than those on the DVC side. We had to dry on that side since all of the BWV dryers were taken after our wash finished.

That is totally unacceptable. Always has been. Do some DVC guest end up paying to do thier laundry? Cha-ching!

I don't think they switched. I think they just switched the website when they brought more of the laundry areas to include the tap to pay.

For Example VGC Laundry Room site is still listed on the Laundry view website: https://www.laundryview.com/home/8542/4019401/GRAND-CALIFORNIAN-VILLA/GRAND-CALIFORNIAN-VILLA which does show copyright CSC Serviceworks in the bottom of the screen.

That one doesn't actually work though and you need to go to the new website: https://mycscgo.com/laundry/summary/4e41c110-2e15-4a43-bedf-6ac022a9d013/4316604-001 which also shows copyright CSC

They changed who and how you pay.

The number of washers and dryers for DVC at the Poly.
Fair point, but I’d add that almost every vacation club property I’ve visited is severely lacking in washers and dryers. It’s definitely not just a Disney issue, but an industry-wide problem.

True! But at the Poly (OG) it is worse because all the rooms are studios, and lots of them, and only one small laundry room. At the other DVC properties, there is a mix of studios, one, two, and three bedroom villas that all have a washer and dryer in them (1, 2, & 3 BR villas, not studios), so less use of the laundry rooms. I've never had a problem getting a washer or dryer at CCV or BRV.

What's even worse, Vegas. No self service laundry rooms!!

never stayed at poly so I can't relate but if its' really that bad you could get an outside laundry valet service. It's not the right answer but just an option.
