DVC kids' perks

I am about to stay on my points for the first time at SSR.... are there special activities for kids for members? It seems like I read somewhere that they have special kids club type activities or something, but now I cannot find any info on it.

Not really a kid's club as such, but a number of DVC resorts have Community Halls that offer all kinds of craft activities usually for a small charge. When I was at OKW last year, they offered two or three craft activities a day.

SSR, OKW, BWV, BLT & AKV (located at Kidani) all have Community Hall where kids can drop in anytime to do activities, most are free but some may have a fee attached & sometimes you'd need to sign-up in advance. But there are also many walk in anytime things for the kids to do like coloring, crafts, video & table games. Also you can go to CH at other DVC resorts, so if you're staying at VWL and want to visit SSR's you can etc. I've heard too that CMs at BCV sometimes have some activities for kids planned during day ( they may do some for the kids at VWL too ). And some CHs have their own unique events - OKW does Unbirthday Celebration and iirc there is a new program at AKV's that is getting good reviews - I'll try to find info and paste it over here. BCV has free movie on the beach nights and SSR at High Rock Springs pool too. The Community Hall's are not a babysitting type thing ( like Neverland Club at Polynesian, Cub's Den at WL, etc. ) so depending upon child's age a parent may need to stay inside CH while child is there.

Just wanted to add that each resort has an activity schedule and you'll get a copy of the week's schedule upon arrival. It is always subject to variations so you really can't plan in advance. Take a look at it shortly after you arrive and try to plan accordingly.

SSR had lots of goings on for kids when we were there last month! There should be a schedule in your room.
