DVC - Join!!!

This is for anyone who can't decide on whather or not to join. JOIN!!!
My family has been a member since 2006 and I wish I could have joined 10 years sooner. We love it.
Going for the first time in Dec. this year and last year we added 100 points to our membership so that our kids that do not live at home any more can come with us.

I think you will find that many on these boards wish they had purchased years earlier. I know DH and I certainly do! We purchased in 2002, have added on several times, and our only regret is that we didn't purchase when DVC first became available in the early 90's.

I echo your thoughts but with young kids the timing was still good for our family. NOW I JUST wish the MONEY TREE would bloom to buy some more BLT pts.

Yep, we purchased in 1997, and our only regret so far has been that we didn't buy way back in 1992 when we first heard about DVC.

I so totally agree! We purchased in 2007 after years of "thinking about it". I wish we didn't think so long!

Add us to that list........we were at WDW in 1993 shortly after OKW opened.....at that time simply called Disney Vacation Club since it was the only DVC resort. In those days, we only visited WDW maybe every 5 years......young family, recent transition from two incomes to one, recently taken on a mortgage, etc, etc, etc..........DH and I often talk about how we would say to one another during that trip......"Gee, I wonder what that Disney Vacation Club is?" If only we had looked into it during that trip............don't know whether we would have bought immediately in 1993, however, we didn't get back to WDW until 2001 due to various family medical problems and our parents failing health issues. Needless to say, in 2001 we did look into DVC.....by that time, there was also VWL, VB, HH, BWV, and BCV was being built........and didn't think twice about buying some of the last points available at VWL during that trip......and have since added on at SSR......and seriously thinking about BLT, if not BLT, we will add on thru resale at VWL in the next year or so........before retirement so in our retirement we can enjoy!!!!!

We bought early in 1992 and have had no regrets. Were down in Orlando in 1991 for our honeymoon and Disney was just starting to promote the DCV. Had to get past that initial "timeshare" connotation, which back then really strong. But after hearing about the product, and how it worked it sounded good. Plus, it was Disney, so that made us feel better. All that coupled with the free park tickets made it a pretty good deal. So we jumped and then did a very small add-on in 1993.
