DVC:incentive questions

I recently went on the DVC tour and was offered bonus points good for one year OR the cash discount ($8 for SSR or $10 AKR). Yet when I called about the advertised incentive "save on this vacation" on the DVC tv promo I saw in my room, I was told that I should have been offered an additional incentive because I was on vacation now looking into it, plus the bonus or discount?

The $500 Disney visa incentive was also not mentioned and I have never read anywhere about it other than online boards like this one. But I called Visa and was told it was true, but it wasn't printed anywhere. I'd like to know if this only applies if you go thru Disney to buy or thru the Timeshare store?
It seems like there are lots of things to be considering other than just how many points I may need.
Any other incentives I should know about before buying? Thanks!

I don't believe they do offer anything extra for those who buy while at WDW. In fact, what they have been known to do is to offer the same incentives available to the general public, but to place a time restriction on the offer. If you call from home to inquire, you'll get the standard offer of $10 off at SSR or $8 off at AKV. But if your first contact with DVC is during an on-site tour, they will probably offer the same discounts while indicating that you must agree to buy within 3 days or risk losing the discounts.

Right now the best offer going is the $10/$8 discount with the bonus points for referral by a member. Disney Visa cardholders (as of 9/1) can also get $500 in Visa rewards if they charge their downpayment. I believe the Visa deal ends on 11/30. No ending date has been announced for the referral bonus.

I can't find the terms posted on-line, but here they are:

This 500 Disney Dream Reward Dollars bonus offer will be awarded to a Disney Rewards Visa Cardmember upon the completion of the purchase of a new Disney Vacation Club Membership. In order to receive these bonus reward dollars, the Cardmember must provide their unique Cardmember ID, must be a Disney Rewards Visa Cardmember prior to 9/1/07 and must complete the purchase of a new real estate interest in a Disney Vacation Club Resort. Bonus reward dollars will be credited to your rewards account up to two billing cycles after the purchase is complete. Disney Dream Reward Dollars are subject to the terms and conditions of the Disney Rewards Program. Limit one 500 Disney Dream Reward Dollars bonus offer per household. The use of a Disney Rewards Visa Card for the initial down payment is required to receive the Disney Dream Reward Dollars bonus offer. This offer is not combinable with the existing Cast Member discount. Offer expires 11/30/07

Resale purchases are not eligible. In fact, resale brokers cannot accept credit cards for payments.

Thanks for the details for the disney rewards, "Bonus reward dollars will be credited to your rewards account up to two billing cycles after the purchase is complete." We purchased our DVC last month with putting our down payment on our disney visa. We just received our statement and while they did give us 0.0% till May 08 on the down payment, there was nothing mentioned about the 500 rewards dollars. Guess I will have to wait till next month, or so....
