DVC: Have you ever split a ressie between cash & points? can this be done?

We have friends that have asked to join us when we go in May. We are doing a split stay between Vero Beach & BCV..

We were thinking of calling to see if we can go from a studio to a two BR, but still use our points, plus the rest with cash...is this even do-able? Or do you think it would be easier to just book them a cash studio at both resorts with our discount? I hope this makes sense

You could book some nights with points and some with cash but you can't split a night between cash and points in the same room.

You are supposed to be staying in the room with the cash discount to get it.

If you book through Member Services, any nights on points should be linked to any cash nights. But if you book through Disney Reservation Center, they won't be able to be linked.

We did this at HH in August and will do it for next August. I book cash to get in and then add some points for the rest. I had 2 nights on points and 4 on cash.

We did split a stay in 2010 at BCV between cash and points. We actually booked our cash nights through CRO to get a better discount. They can't actually "link" them, but they annotate it as part of a continuing reservation. I called MS, and they were happy to annotate the points nights the same way. We did not have to change rooms at all - it worked out perfectly!

We have been staying on a mix of Points/cash/points. We usually arrive on a Tuesday stay on Pts till Friday switch to cash (wkends eat too many points) and then on Sunday switch back to points. We do have to go to the front desk when we change to 'check out/in' but we stay in the same room. It works for us.

All reservations are booked thru MS and linked together.
