DVC Guide?

We recently purchased a DVC membership at SSR through resale. We closed on January 12th and I've received our membership card and made our first reservation for next November - but I haven't been contacted by a guide yet.

If you're a resale owner - do you have guide - and if so, how long did it take for your guide to contact you?

I'm considering a small add-on (already!) and would like to talk to a guide to find out what's available. Is this the right way to go about purchasing an add-on? I obviously know about resales, but since I want under 100 points and prefer BWV - and haven't seen anything recently in my UY - I'd like to see what Disney has to offer.

You should be assigned a guide but they won't be calling you. If you are interested in a add on, call the main DVC number, let them know you are new and want to talk to your guide. They will put you through to whoever has been assigned to you. That's what I did when I wanted to add on.

I believe the best way to go about it is to do almost all your research here, or on other DVC websites. Figure out what you want, then call your guide to make it happen. (As mentioned, you can just call members services, ask who your guide is and to be transferred.)

While some here view their guide as a chummy friend to chat things over with, I think of them as order takers.
