Could it be possible that the rates for golf for DVC members is now $95.00 (after 10:00) ... Last year, we joined the DVC Golf Membership and it was $35.00 per round. Maybe (we hope) we are reading the rates wrong...has anyone been golfing lately with the DVC Membership?

The DVC Golf Membership rates per round are as follows: Dates Per round rate (plus tax) How far in advance to book tee times to receive special rates

October 1, 2002 – January 14, 2003 $50 90 days

January 15, 2003 – April 19, 2003 $95 14 days

April 20, 2003 – September 30, 2003 $35 90 days

I believe the rates drop to $35 on May 2, 2004.

If you are golfing during the $95 season, wdw is offering play any two courses any time for $219. dh looked into the dvc membership and for the membership to be worth it, after you pay the membership fee $95, i think and then the $95 for four players, if you can get three players, to start playing at 10:00am if you can get the tee time because you cant make ressies until 14 days in advance. dh felt that he wouldnt be able to get 3 players, and wanted to play as early as he can so he can spend the rest of the day with the kids, it wasnt worth paying $95 x 2 , plus $95 for the membership just for himself, instead dh will pay $219 for 2 rounds of golf, for the conveince of starting early.:sunny:

Thank you all... Last Easter, after paying $85.00 for the one-year DVC golf membership, we then only payed $35.00/round.

The DVC golf membership will still be valid this Easter and we were hoping to get comparable rates, but the rates are much higher. It doesn't seem worth it to pay the $95.00 rate after 10:00 when, I believe, a resort guest pays just slightly more before 10:00.

Oh well, thanks again for your responses.

stephen11 were you going for easter? i do recall the $35 last year to play and last year it was $199 for 2 rounds of golf.
dh is also playing 1 or 2 days at 3pm for $60 twilight.

I just made reservations using my annual pass for $93.80 at LBV course because I wanted to play earlier than 10am.

Just returned from WDW and played twice at the $219 rate.

For that rate, you can play any course and there is no restriction on the tee times.

If you have an annual pass, you can get 30% off on a round.

The $219 was a better deal, since I wanted to play twice.

Thank you all so much for your responses....

Clark, was the $219 for two rounds including tax? I guess this is the better deal if you want to play early. I do have an Annual Pass, I guess I'll check into that also.

I was hoping to get the great DVC rates they had last Easter ($35.00/round for up to three guests
) after paying the $85.00 membership fee. I will be
playing alone this year...

Stephen

Was the 2 round special only for playing 2 rounds in the same day? If DH is planning on playing 4 times (once on each of 4 days), could he take that special twice? Looking for the least expensive way to golf in May. Last year, he had the DVC badge, but he golfed with DS all week, and so it made financial sense to buy it. This year, no badge, just hope for another "Price Slice Special" or some good deal.

Easter was around April 20 last year. The summer $35 rate began April 20; all days before that were $95. Same thing this year just that Easter is earlier and you don't hit the scheduled drop in rate. The applicable rate has nothing to do with Easter itself. You just got lucky last year because Easter was late.

the two rounds of golf can be played anytime, anywhere anyday, but when you make the ressies make sure you tell them your playing twice for the $219.

dh is playing on the first monday we arrive at eagle pine and again on sat. at the palm for the $219 and then he is playing during the week twilight for $60 at lake buena vista a few times

Is the $60 "twilight" rate a Golf AP rate or just a special "after 3 p.m." rate?

All "twilight" rates (after 3 much of the year, after 2 some parts of the year) apply to anyone and no special card or pass is needed.

if you golf after 3pm it is half price, depends on which golf course you play determines the price some are $75, $70 , $60, you will have to ask when you make your tee time. and that price is for anyone no need for a ap card. dvc card.

if your staying on the property you can even get a free taxi ride to the disney golf courses:teeth:

Just to let you know if you play the twilight rate you are not guaranteed getting in the full 18. We played last week and were give a 3:20 tee time. When we got to the 1st tee there were 4 4somes in front of us waiting. And a group in the fairway and a group on the green. The whole round went that way. We only got in 15 holes and that was because at the turn we went back to the first tee and played the front side over again. Had we stayed in line we would have only gotten 12 or 13 in. There was no apology from the starter, only a comment that they had been backed up all day due to a lack of working carts. He claimed they had 14 carts sitting in the back that were broken down for one reason or the other and that some groups had had to wait to go out until a cart was available.

According to the starter that day if you pay for a twilight rate you have until your third hole to decide to go in and ask for a refund after three holes you have your round in.
