Has anyone become a member before? Worth it? Is it blue card only? Tell me your experiences! I'm looking to do it next year! Any tips and advice are great!

The golf membership is fairly new (started 2018). Prior to the golf membership, members got a 25% discount off of any rounds for up to 4 persons in your group, with the exception of special pricing times such as twilight times when the regular price is quite low and thus the discount is not needed (e.g., in the $35 range per round with cart).

The DVC Golf Membership, $99 a year, was created in 2018, and many believe it was just created to allow Disney to rake members for more profit, while claiming it was improving their discount. You now need that membership to get the 25% discount. A 15% discount still exists without the golf membership. Whether you get the membership really depends on what you intend to do.

You now need it to sign up for DVC golf events (which occur once in a while), for which there was no extra charge before. You get a hat and bag tag. The discount can apply to 6 players in your party (two groups) rather than just 4. You get 4 rounds of golf at Oak Trail (Oak Trail is the 9-hole par 3 walking-course which is usually overcrowded with slow and beginning players resulting in average rounds of close to 3 hours for only nine holes). You get four twilight rounds. You get four passes to take some golf lessons. You get 6 baskets of range balls.

Bottom-line: if you are only going to golf a few times a year as one our two players, it probably is not worth it. If more, then the 25% discount (plus some range balls 4 times) as opposed to the 15% discount may make up for the $99 cost. Moreover, if you actually must do DVC golf events or desire to play Oak Trail a lot of times, then you should consider it.

I do not know if you need blue card to purchase the membership and you may want to check on that. Before 2018, there were reports that blue card was needed but others said it was not needed. I have not seen any reports concerning the DVC Golf Membership.

Wow! That was very thorough! We'd be staying at SSR so I would play a couple twilight rounds at LBV. Plus I wake up very early before the rest of my family so if I can get to the range before my family wakes up, that's a nice little perk with the membership. I don't think I'll ever play Oak Trail. I hate slow play!

Oak Trail is not a Par three course. It is a Nine hole walking course. I played with my family last February, early (8am) tee time and was finished around 10:15am. We had a great time. Nice course if you don't want to spend most of the day away from the parks.
I've also played Magnolia and Palm. All the courses have been in great shape considering the amount of play they get.
