I would like to know how many DVC members have also gotten the DVC Golf Membership? We are planning trips in Dec 06, May 07 and Oct or Nov 07. My DH and DS would like to golf at least once each trip. Trying to determine if this is a good deal or if we are better off to use the AP discount.

It appears that the DVC membership only provides a discount after 10:00am.

I see that there are after 3:00pm cut rates but this will interfer with Dining plans on DDP.

Anybody have any thoughts on the best plan for golfing while there? Thanks much!

DH golfs almost every day we're at WDW, so we got the golf pass when we first joined DVC. However, he didn't really like having to tee off after 10:00 and he has an AP, so now he goes with AP rates. However, the golf pass was worth it financially. He estimated at figured it would pay for itself in about 8 "person-rounds" (either one person playing 8 times, or 4 people playing twice, etc.) The saving's going to vary depending on which course he's playing-the greatest savings is at Osprey, least savings is at LBV. Remember that in May, they've had the "Price Slice Special" the last few years, which gives a big discount to anyone who tees off after 10:00. Here's a website that might give you more info on the courses and rates:

Thanks for the quick response. Looks like we may try just using the AP discount in December and hope for the "Price Slice" next May.

I think that he will save money with the DVC Golf Membership, although you do have to play after 10:00am. If he only plans to play once a trip maybe it's worth the extra $ to play early.

If you're going during the summer, don't waste your $ on the DVC Annual. After 10 am, the Price Slice saves you money if you plan to use the range prior to the round. The Annual Membership basically amounts to a $50 donation to Disney Golf. Might be different in the winter months.
