DVC Golf Card

I have a couple of questions regarding the DVC golf discount card. Can it only be used when you are staying using your points? We put our DVC membership in my name for estate purposes. Can my spouse get a golf discount card? We are using our points for my son's family's reservation and paying cash for our studio. Would they let us use the card even if our name isn't on the DVC room? Thanks.

The DVC golf card can be used any time. One card is good for up to 4 people. If your spouse also purchases one, so you would be able to get the discount for 8 people. The card is not tied to your reservation in any way. You just need to have your DVC member card to purchase the discount golf card. By the way, Disney provides free shuttle (taxi) to and from the golf course from their resorts, even DVC resorts. They will also store your clubs for you if you don't want to haul them back and forth from room to golf course.
