DVC Gold AP Renewal Questions

I had a Gold pass that expired on July 26 and I am down to 9 days left in my renewal window... I know new AP sales are on hold for now but are DVC Gold AP renewals still allowed?

If yes, will that renewal start the clock on my AP? Or will the clock start the next time I go to a park?

Thanks!!!

Renewals can be done and it starts from the expiration date of the last one.

So, if the current expired July 26, then the renewal will be that same date in 2021...doesn’t matter when you go next.

If you don’t want that, you have to wait to buy a new one which we don’t have any idea when that will be.

Thank you!! That’s what I figured 🙂

It really doesn’t impact my plans one way or the other, I’ve got Marathon Weekend in Jan 2021 and a family trip in Apr 2021 so I’m covered either way.

Thanks!

Will Disney currently let you change your pass type if you renew? I presently have a Premier AP but would want to renew as a Gold AP.

Since they are currently allowing renewals, I see no reason why they would prevent you from changing the pass level during the renewal. You must call Member Services to renew.

We just bought DVC the other day. We had platinum passes that expired last month, so we were in our 30 day grace for renewal. They let us renew as a gold pass.

So DVC let me renew as a Platinum Pass. My Premier pass was set to expire 10/28. And just as I renewed, I saw that my Premier Pass was extended again, to 11/27. I'm sad for everyone out west that Disneyland remains closed, but I confess I like how it keeps extending my existing Premier Pass!

Originally I was going to cancel - my estimate is that I should have gotten about $269 back - but given that I don't know when APs will be on sale again and we have a December trip planned, I decided to renew instead. Hopefully we get to take our trips and this isn't a wasted renewal!

Still kicking myself for not buying AP certificates for the rest of the family earlier, though -- I had literally went online to book APs *just* as they closed it (as in, I was able to get all the way to check out before it failed). Anyone here any rumors yet about when APs may come back? I've heard everything from October to end of year to end of 2021 (!!!). If we get to actually take all of our trips, we have trips planned in December, February, April, September, and December again, so I really want to be able to purchase APs!
