Hi
If I enroll for monthly payments.. can I later in the year pay out the balance?

Do the monthly payments come with interest or additional fee?

Also do you know the past due date is still Feb 14th?

Thanks

You can pay in full at any point later in the year. If you have multiple contracts, you can also pay some off in full and continue paying monthly for others.

There is no interest or fees for paying monthly. I used to pay off my dues in full at the beginning of the year, but when I realized that paying monthly was essentially 0% interest for the year, I started paying monthly -- I'd purchase gift cards so I could still get credit card earnings.

The past due date is still 2/15 - if you pay by 2/14, you're all set.

Hey! Thanks for the information. Quick follow up question. I was under the impression that if you chose monthly payments that you had to pay using a bank account. Can you choose monthly payments and still pay with gift cards? Thanks!

It has to be deducted from the bank account. But, you can go in before the payment is do and add gift cards to cover that months payments.

If you choose monthly payments, you have to select a bank account. However, you can go to the website any time and pay the monthly amount by gift card - if you pay the monthly amount in full it won’t debit from your account and will skip to the next month.

It’s certainly not as convenient - I wish they’d allow me to pay monthly dues by credit card so I could set and forget! - but it’s doable! I just set a reminder for myself on the 12th to go in and pay.

also as a note - if you purchase e-gift cards through Shop Disney website it can sometimes take 24-48 to issue you a gift card, which I learned the hard way one time when I was short on gift cards for the monthly payment and said “oh, I’ll just get it from shopdisney to at least get 2% back” and they took 48 hours to issue the e-gift card. That’s when I moved my reminder from the 14th to the 12th. ;-)

This is great news! Thank you so much for your help. This is my first year with DVC and I was planning on paying it off in full using my Sapphire Preferred (2x points on travel), but now I think ill work throughout the year to get as many cheap gift cards as I can from BJs or Sams while also working Chase freedom points and Discover It point categories. Maximize points and get cheaper gift cards. Also gives me a yearly project which is fun haha.

Is it unusual that I still don't show any dues owed? We joined in November, have our account and can see everything else, even have two stays booked. But when I go to due it just says 2020 Dues Paid in Full (for some reason) and that's it. It has the correct contract and member ID listed. I am going to contact member services, but as most know the delay in reaching them can be pretty long, so was hoping it would just show up one day, but we are approaching that first dues window.

Discover It had target.com as 5% cash back in Q4 of 2021. I was able to buy Disney gift cards from target.com and get 5% back in cash, so that was nice. I maybe should get the Red Card for this, but I don't want another credit card right now, and I don't want to do their debit card option.

Anyone else having a problem getting the dues page to load today? I'm trying to PIF with a credit card and that page loads empty. I've tried getting to the pay dues page both from the direct link and from the link through notifications. Both take me to an empty page.

You can get the Red Card as a debit too. That's what I did as I didn't want another credit card either. Still get the 5% off on everything at Target.

Edit:
Didn't see the last bit you said you didn't want the debit. :) Majority of my Red Card purchases are Disney gift cards to help pay off annual dues.

Did you actually close? If you spread payments out on a CC, it may be because of that. That happened to use in 2019. We didn't close until January, and it was after that the dues populated.

I believe we are... I know that sounds odd but with everything happening online with Docusign and that, I was told we were done. I have in my contract docs that my estimated closing data is January 6th, 2022, which would make some sense. But I also received an Email from DVC that said my "actual closing date has been adjusted to 12/19/2021".

That email came on 12/19 though, which was two days after I also received an email saying my 2022 dues were now available. So my guess is they did close on 12/19, and it was just after the dues were initially settled. I will either call them tomorrow or maybe on the 6th see if anything changes and if not call them at that time.

Thank you all!

Looking at my “transaction history” the dues are dated the 16th which would pre-date your closing date. That would likely be why you aren’t seeing them. That said, I would reach out and make sure all is good (but then again I worry about everything).

Yeah I worry also, I have an allergy to being late if I owe someone money or just being somewhere on time, so Disney needs to straighten it out so I can get them their money and not think about it for another year. :D
