DVC Dues Increase at VWL

Hi all, just paid my annual dues at VWL. Looking at my payment history (this is my second year of ownership), it looks like my dues went up over 20%! Is this the normal trend? I knew they increased each year, but yikes!!!

The annual dues increase for VWL from 2015 to 2016 was 3.16%, not over 20%.

Ok, so I closed on my contract in March 2014 and it was resale. Could it be that the former owner paid a pro-rated amount and that's why I'm seeing this?

probably more like an adjustment to property taxes.

To see if you paid pro-rated dues in 2015, multiply the number of points you own by the 2015 dues rate ($6.0251 per point) and see how the total compares to what you paid in 2015.

Each year, the first monthly payment includes any extra property tax you owe for 2015 (the amount by which the actual 2015 property taxes exceeded the estimated taxes you paid as part of your 2015 dues). For VWL the additional property taxes owed is a tiny amount this year (see below). If you owned 100 points, you would owe an additional 75 cents in property taxes and it would be added to your January payment.

2015 Actual Property Taxes: $1.0534 per point
2015 Estimated Prop. Taxes: $1.0459 per point
Additional amount added to January payment: $0.0075 per point
