I hate to re-visit this topic, but I'm trying to think of how I can NOT pay the annual maintenance fees. What I mean is this;

Can I pay our annual maintenance fees with reward dollars earned on the Disney Visa card?

Since we have our bills paid each month with our no-name credit union Visa, (yes, we pay it off each month), I was thinking of putting our mortgage ($2500+) as well as all the other crummy little payments on the Disney Visa instead.

With my mortgage alone, I could easily earn $300 reward dollars towards the maintenance fee. (Every little bit helps!)

Assuming the return is $1.00 for every $100 put on the card, does this sound correct?

Also, does anyone remember the link to the Disney Visa with the DVC logo on it?
:wave2:

I could be wrong, but I believe there is a maximum amount that Disney Visa (and all reward credit cards) will give in a year. Once you reach that amount, you can continue to charge but you do not get the rewards until your new year starts.

The maximum is 750 points per calander year. Points only accrue from net purchases which do not include balance transfers, convenience checks, and cash advances. If paying bills, make sure it is run through as a purchase to accrue points. I'd call MS to see if they would accept a Disney Rewards Card as a form of payment. The card given to you when you want to redeem your collected points. Make sure you clarify with them that it is the rewards card with the accrued points that you want to pay with and not the Disney Visa Card.

I was thinking about doing this also. I was going to get a disney card and a universal to accrue rewards towards our vacation. Plus there's a hulk universal card that i'm dying to get. Yeah, I know, I shouldn't get a card for the picture on it....

I talked to ms already and yes you can use your rewards card. It acts just like a debit card just give them the rewards card number not the Disney visa number.:earsboy:

Are you sure you can make your mortgage payment with a credit card? I haven't seen any mortgage companies that would allow it, but it sure would be great if they did! Please post if you are successful. :D

Barron .. I have a Disney Visa card but I don't understand about the reward card bit you mentioned above.
How can you use the reward card to make mortage payments? The reward card is funded through your Disney Visa expenditure, no?
BTW, has anyone try using the Disney Visa card to pay the maintenace fee?

That is true, however since I use (and pay off) my credit card each month what I did was to apply for another card in my wife's name - so when I max out my point earings in a year on my card, I switch over to using hers, and we don't miss out on any points!

You can use the rewards to buy disney dollars and pay for meals and purchases while in walt disney world.

I have not been able to do this with my mortgage company. It sure would be nice though! That would add up to alot of rewards.

We used our Disney Visa Card to pay our DVC maintenance fees earlier this year. I just called MS accounting, it couldnt have been easier. Also we do pay mosy of our bills with it to earn additional points, but have not heard of paying a mortgage payment. I just assumed it would be treated as a balance transfer.

I see I've got a lot of attention with this. I'm going to check with my mortgage company today and see about the direct billing. I'll keep you all posted.

You may not hear from me for a while, we're headed to Myrtle Beach for a few days of R&R. But I will let you all know what transpires with this.

Yes. They accept any VISA, MasterCard and I believe AMEX now that they no longer are the official card of WDW. But that is ONLY for special payments, NOT the regular monthly payments.

You can also use your credit card to pay maintenance fees (single annual payment). Monthly payment of fees can only be done with EFT direct from checking account.
