I know I should know the answer to this question, but for the life of my I'm drawing a blank :confused3 ...

My question is do DVC members get a discount on non-DVC resorts?

Here's the deal... my mom & sis has decided to join us our our vacation in May. I have a studio already for myself and my SO and while I know a studio can sleep 4 ... there is no way in this world (or in Disney world) that we'd share a room w/ my mom and sis - and I'm not ruining my vacation for next year for this by borrowing more points, so I'm left w/ finding a room for them at a good rate.

I was also wondering if anyone has heard what the AP room rates are for May? I notice the discount code on the WDWINFO site, but can't find a rate reference anywhere.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you!!

this is the annual pass discount.

DVC members only get a discount on DVC resorts - no others.

You cannot get a discount on non-DVC resorts. You can get mads/deluxes on points, but that won't help you. What if you have them rent points? You could transfer them into your account so that you'd be in charge of the ressie.

boy I forgot the most important line

again from Mary - mousesavers
The code gives you a flat discount off the rack rates: $25 off Value resorts, $40 off Moderate resorts and $100 off Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts. Some sample rates:

I don't know exactly how things work, but we went down during presidents week. Stayed at POFQ on points because my parents were at Riverside. Decided to stay an extra 3 days so DH could come down and surprise the kids. I was told over and over that there were no rooms for the weekend (daytona 500, etc.) but then Ruth at guest services there took my cell phone number and said she'd try to pull some strings. She called me within in a hour and said I could stay--didn't even have to change rooms. When I went down to the front desk to pay for the additional nights, I was so thrilled to receive a discount on the room. (mind you, this was a weekend rumored to be filled to capacity) They discounted my room from $134 to $113 and said it was a DVC discount.

I really do think there are discounts, but maybe only if you're staying with points for some of it too. ???

Thank you spiceycat for pointing me to mousesavers! I knew they had to be up somewhere, but I'm still getting the hang of doing this codes/etc thing.

And thank you wtpclc!! Rent points.. *slaps points*... I really should have thought of that one, but didnt' even dawn on me! If they decide not to stay w/ during the weekend (at the moment their plans are just Mon-Fri) then this will probably be the way we go... if not.. well I'm glad I got my AP to try and save them a little money, and if that's not good enough for them... well I've done my part!

I knew ppl on DIS would have the answers - Thanks again!!!

No problem. Didn't think of it myself until I was almost done with my reply! Yes, I often need to bouce ideas off of people to make sure I'm not missing the obvious!
