DVC discount / Park Passes at Dis Store question...

If I buy some park hopper passes at The Dis Store and show my DVC card, do I get the 10% off? CAn't recall if there was a restriction there.

Secondly -- if I buy them at a Dis Store in Delaware, that's no sales tax, so additionally cheaper...

WOuld my 10% plus no sales tax make those tickets a good deal, or would I do better going through a discounter?

Just trying to make every cent count...

There is no 10% discount on passes, and you still have to pay the Florida 6.5% tax even if you buy in Delaware. Sorry about that, not sure how Disney can do that but they do. You do get a discount for advance purchase at the Disney stores. Not much, but it just about covers the tax.

They can charge it because the passes are being used in Florida. Disney has a tax nexus in Florida, therefore the sales tax is applicable and Disney must collect it.

Technically all sales taxes are written as sales and use taxes. So if you go to Delaware to buy tax free, you should complete a use tax form and send the appropriate use (sales) tax to your home state.

Tickets with DC and sometimes DVC (by accident) were never discounted 10%, it is approx. 5%.

Disney charges the tax, it is a sales and use tax, you use the tickets in FL, hence the tax.

We were at one of our local Disney Stores today. Just noticed that they have AP and PAP passes on sale there. They said you buy the certificate and activate when you get to the parks. Might make for a way to effectively buy a new pass right before a price increase. I forgot to ask if they were discounted from the price in Florida. Make sure you confirm before you buy.
