DVC discount at Disney Store?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows where it is listed (if it is) that we get a DVC discount at the Disney Stores? Also what is the discount supposed to be?

I am asking because my fiance just called me and she bought $15 worth of pins and and said she got only like 5% or less off. she said it was like 50 cents off. I have not checked her recipt to see exactly what the discount she did get was. I am wondering if the CM only gave a discount on one of the pins. I think they are like $5 each. And when my fiance was on the phone she asked me to find where the discount is listed. I will look through our member guidebook when I get home from work, but figured I may get a quicker answer here

The DVC discount at TDS is 10%. It does not apply to ticket media or Disney Dollars.

I'd sure check that receipt!

I just looked all through the DVC site and couldn't find the benefit listed anywhere. I swear it used to be on there... They didn't take it away did they?

The couple times I've tried to use it the CM in the Disney Store didn't know anything about it, but gave me the 10% discount anyway.

To find the list of DVC discounts just go to the Members Only Site and click on Member News. When you get to this page then click on Special Member Offers on the left. But when I glanced down the list I didn't see anything about the 10% discount at TDS. But I know that is what we get at our local store.

That's exactly what happened. The last item rang in at $5, and the CM hit the "Enter" key instead of the "Total" key on the register, so the discount came off the last item instead of the total purchase. Easy to fix, just go back to the store and explain the mistake to the manager. Personally, I wouldn't bother for the $1 difference though.

Well we got an "offical" answer to this question.

My fiance called MS and asked them about the discount at the Disney store. She was told they DVC members DO get 10% discount at the Disney store. The CM said it is not listed on the site or anywhere because they are not allowed to "advertise" it, they can only tell members about it when they ask about it.

Sometimes it is referenced in the Member Benefits listing we receive (haven't gotten one in some time). I remember they did add a low dollar limit for getting the 10% -- I think it was a $6 purchase. This may account for why the $5 pin did not get discounted.

With the announcement of the change in focus for the Disney Stores, I'm pretty disappointed. They can take the discount away since I doubt I'll be buying anything there in the future.

To the best of my knowledge there is no minimum purchase required for the DVC discount (10%) to be applied to your purchase.
