In all my research I've always heard buying DVC direct is quick and seamless, while resale takes a bit to go through the steps in the process. We've decided to buy DVC Direct at the minimum and then add on with resale. Until today, the process was super simple. I told our guide what resort, the amount of points, the use year and thought we were all set. I confirmed everything today over the phone.
I get our paperwork, open it up to review and sign and my husband's name is wrong. Annoying since I was very clear with our guide about names, phone numbers, etc. but, mistakes happen. I called the "QC" number in the paperwork and asked for it to be corrected. They said they'd send out updated paperwork.
This evening my husband tells me he got a bunch of additional emails from DVC after the "voided" one - they sent my paperwork to his email in addition to his. Again, it's annoying but not a huge deal. However, when he went to go through his paperwork they had an old phone number listed, one I never gave them. This phone number is years old, and its a landline to a house we sold years ago so there's not way to "verify" with the SMS to even start the paperwork.
I've emailed our guide about the issues with the paperwork to see if there's anything he can do to just resolve all the issues at once. Is everything with DVC this much of a disorganized mess?
