I have one day that I need to double-book (but not in the truest sense). My husband and I would like to have lunch at Via Napoli and my daughter will be having brunch with her grandparents at 1900 Park Fare around 10:45.

With the new policy in place, I will need to call in their reservation or it will look like a double-booking. As my reservation number is a DVC reservation, do I have to call Member Services or will WDW-DINE be able to pull up the DVC reservation?

I have done my reservations online since becoming an owner, so I am not sure about how it works with DVC reservations.

You can still make dining reservations online. The online system will accept the DVC reservation # if you need the 180+10 day window.

I do understand that I can make reservations online. :) My question is not how to make them but who can access my DVC reservation number as I need to make 2 reservations for about the same time. ;)

Put the one with the grandparents in one of their names and use their phone #. That way there's no way for it to be cancelled as a double booking. Unless you want to take advantage of the +10, you don't even have to put in your reservation #.

This is exactly what I was going to say. :thumbsup2

I just did this because I had reservations at Boma - one for 5 and one for 15. When I originally made the reservation, I was under the impression we only had 15. When 5 more people popped up, I tried to change the 15 to 20 with no succuss. The agent on the phone was the one who suggested making an additional reservation for 5 which worked.

When I heard about this change I called. Both reservations were there but to be safe we ended up cancelling the one for 5 and rebooking it under a friend's name.

I never call MS for dining reservations. I always use the WDW-Dine number with no problems.

Whats the new policy regarding double booking of ressies??

I can't find the original thread but basically if you make 2 reservations for the same meal, Disney has a way to match them up on the system and cancel them. For example, if you are not sure if you want to eat lunch at Sci-Fi or Prime Time 50's and make reservations for both, they consider that a double booking and will cancel them. If as in the case above where your group is splitting up for a meal, all you need to do is show different names and different phone #'s or e-mail addresses and they should not be cancelled. I'm not sure if they will pickup on the same room reservation #.
