Hi all,

Just wanted to get clarification on the Dining plan costs for an upcoming DVC rental.

The quick service plans says:

$29.99 per guest 10 and older
$8.99 per child 3-9 years old

The price for the Quick Service Dining Plan is per night of stay, and includes sales tax.

So if I'm going on a 4 night/5 days trip (check in Sunday, check-out Thursday).

1) The cost for 1 adult would be 29.99 x 4, correct?

2) Even though it's per night, does it still provide you credit for all 5 days?

Sorry for basic questions, just want make sure I'm doing this right :)

Thank you!

You would get 4 nights worth of dining credits (so 4 x ___ TS, ___CS, ___ snacks - depending on what plan you're on) that can be used from check-in until midnight of your check out day.

You are paying for the number of nights only. You will only get 4 days of food on the dining plan, not 5. The 5th day will be on your own outside of the plan.

With that said, the plan is based on the number of meals and snacks per day you purchased. You can mix and match any way you want. If you wanted to save a meal for day 5 you could, you would just have to pay cash for one of the other meals. The meal plan expires on midnight of the day you check out of your room.

Hope this helps...have fun!

Ah, ok.

You basically sorta shuffle down your first day credits (like lunch if you arrive in the afternoon) to the 5th day for lunch.

I get it. Thanks for help!!

We did the Quick Service plan this past June and ended up with a bunch of unused snack credits the day we checked out of AKV. We just went to The Mara and the gift shop before hitting the road and stocked up on muffins, drinks, chips, candy and Mickey Ear Rice Crispy Treats to take back as gifts for all our kid's friends. We had a bag full of snacks for the long car trip back home and were able to utilized every credit.

Hah, sounds like a great idea.

I'm putting some information together for my sister and her 3 girls who might join us on our trip in September. I'd surprised if she didn't use all the credits, hah, but your idea is great because they'll be driving as well if they don't use them all.

We had 8 with us that trip (5 adults, 3 kids) and often ended up sharing a popcorn, bag of chips, etc. Since you get 2 snack credits per person per night we started out with 96 credits and ended up with 14 unused on our check-out day.

Everyone in our party was surprised that we had that many left over because we never rationed our credits, we stopped to get a drink or snack whenever we felt like it. I think being able to take the drinks we got with our counter service meals with us throughout the parks cut down on the drink purchases a lot and resulted in so many unused credits. The others in our party let us have all the remaining credits so we made sure we used every last one.

We also found that getting dessert with lunch also helped to cut down on snack credit usage. Either we were too full, ro the kids saved their dessert (brownies, etc.) and ate them later. We used all our snack credits on the way out as well the same way.
