Okay we are planning for next year and as much as I think we would like the DDP w/ all of the changes and the fact that we have a 7 person party w/ 5 of us classified as adults- I am starting to wonder if it will be worth it for us- If we don't do the DDP or DDXP which restaurants or, do they all, offer discounts on dining for Resort members? Is it 10% discount for OOP Resort members? I am trying to add up what our dining bill plus tips would be both ways- DDP, DDXP or OOP- TIA for anyone who can help me out here- Signature Dining?
Dining Shows i.e. Spirit of Aloha etc
Character Dining?
Any of these discounted as well or is it just regular meals at select restaurants?

Go on the member website, there is a listing of DVC discounts. There really aren't alot. No character meals, no shows. Mostly 10%, some 20%.

Member Priviledges > Member Perks > WDW Resort > Dining

If you have an annual pass, you may want to look there too.

I know that many of the restaurants only offer the discount on breakfast and/or lunch. For DH and I this would not work in our plans because we prefer to eat breakfast in the room (other than maybe 2 character breakfasts in a whole trip), have a CS lunch either at the park or the resort (it is quicker in our park plans), and we love having a sit-down TS dinner. So the DDP would work better in our case. We also plan to go every other year so the AP would not be of value to us, since we plan on a 5 or 6-day base ticket which would be much cheaper than an AP. Therefore the DDE card is not possible for us to purchase.

So, for us the DDP works out, for now. 2 adults, 2 children ages 3 and 5 the next time we go on 2010. We LOVE TS restaurants and lots of character meals too and so the DDP saves us money.

Also keep in mind that DVC perks, such as discounts, can and will change over time. So something that is 20% off today could be full price tomorrow and vice versa.

If you have annual passes, definitely look into the Disney Dining Experience card. It gives you 20% off of most table-service restaurants and some counter service places (AK, Value resorts). There is a charge for the card, but if you spend at least $300 on eligible purchases you'll save money.

Thanks! & Thanks for the directions on where to check for this- We will definitely be eating a few TS and plan to have character meal at least once and also plan a show dinner or two- otherthan that I wondered if Ohana's or Le Cellier would be better on DDp or w/ OOP expense better- we do intend to have app's as well as entree and desert at TS and w/ 5 of us as adults (my 3 older kids 12-17) my 2 younger boys 7 & 9 like steak and ribs, shrimp, crab, etc- just all around more adult type meals- not sure if DDP will be good for that purpose or not- & no AP right now- we live in NC and would not be going again w/in the year- yet... We are doing 10 day w/ WP&M plus hoppers, non expiring- and plan to use them over at least 3 trips- hope we can get more from them- Figure least expensive route as well- more money this year but next few trips no worries for park tickets- Will be our first experience w/ doing Disney and hope we are choosing best financial route for our future trip and beyond... Thanks for all advice and info- You guys are great! :goodvibes
