DVC dining discount and splitting checks

Can we apply our DVC discount and the "split" the check between my credit card (DVC member) and my brother in laws, 50/50?

Not supposed to be able to do it, but I'm sure someone will come along shortly and state that they've done it before.

Don't count on being able to do it. We were with my cousin and she wanted to buy us a meal. She put down a Disney gift card and the waiter saw her. He wouldn't take it. That's not even a currency that has a different name on it. Either pay cash or pay on your Magicbands and have brother-in-law pay you with Disney gift cards that you can apply to your account.
