DVC Cruise Promotion Aug 15 question

We are getting ready to buy DVC and will be leaving for WDW on August 15th. I recently got a flyer in the mail about the "free cruise" but I'm not sure that promotion is right for us. A few problems:

I give it a 30% chance that we will actually buy from DVC vs resale.

1. We are a family of 6. The promotion is for a family of 4. What will they do?

2. We've been on 2 DCL cruises and the 3 night really doesn't excite us that much.

I'm guessing the value of this promo is in the 2,500-3,500 range?

Does anyone know what will happen when the promo expires on the 15th? Will they run a while without a promo or will they introduce a new one fairly quickly?

I know I can call my guide and see if she can place hold us in to ensure the promo, but maybe it's not worth chasing a promo that really doesn't work for my family? Afterall I'm not interested in spending money to supplement a free promo.

Ideas?

You'd have to pay for the additional 2 family members....and with a family of six you'd need to have two staterooms or a category high enough to accomodate 6 guests -- which would be pretty expensive.

In your case, you'd probably be better off not using the cruise promo and getting the reduced price per point, along with a member referral.

We are in the same situation. Our guy told us that we could take cash in lieu of the cruise. This would lower the overall cost of the purchase.

If the incentive doesn't work for you then don't take it.

My understanding is that the incentives for AKV will increase and BLT will decrease later this month.

Is there any dollar amount that they are putting on the current promotion? The curise does not make sense to us but I'd like to know the value so I can understand my overall investment if we were to purchase BLT.
