DVC Cruise Gift

I have a question for fellow DVC members who booked the cruise using points. Last time we cruised using the points we received a DVC beach towel. Do they still do that? And I understand that being a Castaway Club member you also get a beach towel. Does anyone know if you get both DVC and CC beach towels?

I know, thinking way too much about our upcoming trip!

We just got back from our cruise that we used points to book.
The first night we got 2 lanyards and an invitatation for a members reception and also later in the week a chance to add on points.

At the reception we asked if we could have a third lanyard for DD they said they were low and too check later in the cruise. We did get the extra lanyard. At the reception they handed out red baseball caps to everyone then had a raffle for prizes, like a water bottle, fanny back, coozie etc.

The reception was coffee and danish type food and they spoke about the new things happening with DVC, really pushing the add the points thing.
We didn't attend the add on meeting as we didn't want to get anymore points and heard enouht of the sales pitch at the reception.

Thanks for the information! I was hoping it would be a towel again! Would you suggest going to the DVC meet or skip it? We are not interested at this time in purchasing more points.

Hey, we booked with points on a 4 day Wonder last summer and didn't get anything! What gives? Are you sure this applies to shorter cruises?

Can you attend the reception even if not booked on points? I will miss the member meeting at the resorts and would like to find out the latest. I decided not to use the high points needed and used cash instead. (I dont expect to get the stateroom gift)

Our first DCL cruise was 4 years ago, 4-night Magic and we got the towel that time and we booked with points.

Not sure what is up with that!

If we were on the same cruise I woud have given you the where and when of the member meet but since you are on a little later cruise that won't work. But if you are interested I am sure that the member meet is usually the same time/place on each cruise. I could give you the info. after we return. Are you on the 4-night Wonder?

CARLNNE yes u can attend even if u dont go with points ..

check with the dvc staff at the dvc deck on the ship they will tell u when it is ...
they give away u know free stuff hats and so on ... inventory always different..

We go so i can get my new baseball cap ....buy the time a year rolls around i have worn the old one to the limit ...

Just had another cruiser get one for me from the reception
was very nice of them ......
