:banana::banana::banana::banana: Woo-whoo! We were lucky to pay off our DVC loan last month. Will we receive any form of notification besides the confirmation email? Seems like there should be something official... :confused3

First off, congratulations!

You will get a notification eventually, but it takes them quite a while to send it out. I think our last one took several months. If you worried that is was not recorded, you can go under loans on dvcmember.com and it should say "paid in full".

Congratulations!!!! It has to be a wonderful feeling!!!:love::dance3:

This was many years ago, but when we paid off our loan we did receive something "official" from Disney...I think it was our contracts we signed that were stamped "paid in full". So now that that loan is paid off, its time to start saving for an add-on!! :woohoo:

Disney files a "Satisfaction of Mortgage" notice with the Orange County Comptroller (OCC) when individuals have paid off their mortgage. Disney normally batches its submissions and they usually post to the OCC once a month. On February 17, 2011, 539 Satisfactions appeared, on March 2, 2011, another 585 notices were filed.

To see if your Satisfaction Notice has been filed and recorded, go to the OCC website at https://officialrecords.occompt.com/recorder/eagleweb/docSearch.jsp. On the Search screen, enter your name in the Grantee field in Last First order (such as Washington George). If your name if fairly common and you get a lot of hits, you can narrow the search by entering Disney in the Grantor field, and/or enter a range of dates in "Start" and "End" date fields. Records that meet the search criteria will then appear. Once you find the record you want, then click on the link labeled "Add to my Images" that is on the right side of each record. Then, in the left margin of the screen is a section labeled "My Images" showing the records you have added. Click on "Download My Images." The records will then appear as a PDF that can be downloaded to your Mac or PC.

Trust me, its simpler than it might sound.

BTW it doesn't cost anything to search the OCC site and download records.

Good luck, and Congratulations!!

Thanks for this great information. I checked and our notice hasn't been filed yet. That's ok. Thanks to you I know where to go check on it periodically.

And yes, it feels so good to no longer be paying interest on that loan. My husband recently retired and DVC was the first item on our agenda to take of. We were very fortunate to have planned for this financially. Maybe we'll add on in the future but right now we're enjoying the satisfaction of knowing our vacations are doing what makes us happy.

That's awesome! As soon as we find out how much more Uncle Sam wants from us this year, we will hopefully be able to send the payoff amount:cool1: I can't believe how much we have spent on interest in just under 2.5 years. I would assume there would be some kind of release of lien sent within 2 months after the payoff.

We paid ours off in January and it took till end of Feb to get that "Paid in Full" paperwork from the bank! We went thru a lender and not Disney but still very nice to receive the papers...Shawnpirate:
