Hello All
I went on a resale site and noticed that each resort has a set end year. IMy wife and I took the dvc tour in September and I could of sworn he said 50 years. Did I hear that wrong ? This entire time I thought you can get it for 50 years and was torn about resale bc I thought I was getting screwed on years !

Each resort has a specific end date. What DVC started doing with SSR was to offer each new resort with a 50 year expiration but it is a fixed end date. So if you bought when a resort first opened you'd have 50. If you bought either direct or resale a year after a resort opened it would have 49 years. 2 years after opening - 48 years etc. They did offer a contract extension for OKW so you will find some contracts with a 2042 expiration and others with a 2057 and any OKW contract bought direct will have the 2057 end date. For all other resorts it makes no difference on the end date whether you buy resale or direct - they will be the same. The first few resorts they did not offer 50 years and just had the same end date for all at 2042. That is non-extended OKW, VB, HHI, BWV, BCV and VWL. SSR is 2054. AKV is 2057 as are extended OKW. BLT and VGC are 2060. Aulani 2062. VGF 2064 and PVB 2066.

Spend enough time so you can absorb the variables and instantly know what they mean and how they fit together. RTU isn't an issue other than as it affects the inherent value of a given contract. IMO it does for the 2042 resorts somewhat but not for 2054 or above resorts.
