Another thread got me to thinking (always a bad thing), that we needed something to get a hot discussion going. Well let's see if this works.
Here is your chance to get all those bad things you have done at DVC off your chest. I will start.
I took the family back in the mid-90s to OKW on Fourth of July for the day, without a reservation. We stayed the whole day at the pool area, participating in the pool games, watching the parade of CMs, and seeing the lion cub that was in the parade.
We had asked at an earlier trip in the year if it was allowed for us to come over for the day and were told by a CM that it was allowed. :worship: for forgiveness.

hey in the early 90's they allowed a lot of things that are not allowed now.

miss those days - of course then it was only DVC (OKW) - and most of the other guests were renters (from Disney and DVC members) not fellow members.

you were treated like a VIP.

I forgive you but I'm not an owner at OKW.

If you decide to drop in at BCV, BWV, HHI, VB, I AM an owner there and I will happily add you as a guest so you can enjoy a day if I am there.

PS - can you certify that you are not an axe murderer, or a towel thief or a pool chair hog?

I've forgotten to hang the "Privacy please / Do not disturb" tag on the door.

Sure, for most that would not be a big deal ... but because of my error, I nearly flashed a maintenance engineer who walked in on my bath! (Very glad I had a bathrobe w/in easy reach. Phew!)

oh i have defiantly stopped by a left alone cart for extra soap and a towel.....everything else i have asked for extra they try and charge me so i have not really gotten away with anything.....

Oooh! Here's my DVC confession-way back when SSR was being built, I took my little rental car and just kept on driving past the "Do Not Enter" sign at the entrance to see what was going on. Yes, Disney Security showed up promptly with their lights flashing, and I left, very red-faced. I don't know what possessed me to be so brazen-I was so embarrassed!

My parents were supposed to fly home a couple of days before us. After staying in their own studio for five nights, they decided they wanted to
stay two more days. Yes, we had 11 in a two bedroom at VWL for two nights. Luckily we had two little ones in pack-n-plays at that time.:scared:

Besides visiting the Mousekeeping cart, I have allowed towels and tops (I never dry mine) to lounge on the balcony! :laundy: . I quickly bring them in once they are dry -- don't leave them forever :guilty:

I've yet to enjoy an appropriately stocked studio kitchenette. We will find plates, but no bowls in the cabinet. There will be a bundle of over a dozen knives, but no forks or spoons. We have made the required phone call, in the past, to no avail. Now, I pick up what we need at the quick service dining location.

Yes, I know that these are different accounts and budgets. However, after vacuuming the Cheerios and wiping the residue of a juice spill off the coffee table from the previous family, I have little interest in explaining to someone at a call center why I need spoons.

Amen!

I have taken Pool towels when I cannot get DVC Housekeeping to understand that rooms that sleep 4 needs towels for 4.

I have gotten into Stormalong Bay when not staying at BCV......and it was GLORIOUS!
Not going to lie....I've "window shopped" the housekeeping carts as my wife loves the soap....but I've never actually taken anything. Only ever see plasticware cups/dishes and pens.
